CHEBOYGAN COUNTY, MI -- A 21-year-old Cheboygan man has been charged with four counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct after he allegedly sexually assaulted a minor multiple times. The victim was between the ages of 13-15 at the time. Devyn Kenneth-Trevor MacLeod was arraigned on the charges on Dec. 28, according to the Michigan State Police.
RELATED:
The charges stem from an investigation that began in October when troopers with MSP’s Gaylord branch were called to Otsego Memorial Hospital for a report of alleged sexual contact of a minor involving an adult. The alleged victim’s parents told police they confronted the teen about the alleged incidents, and the teen claimed to have had several sexual encounters with the suspect earlier in the month.
Police eventually obtained a warrant for MacLeod’s arrest on Dec. 27. However, MacLeod was already in custody at the Cheboygan County Jail on an unrelated charge when police served him with the warrant for his arrest on the CSC charges.
MacLeod eventually posted $25,000 bail on Jan. 4 and was released from custody. He is due back in court on Jan. 13.
