The often outspoken Representative from New York, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, decided to publicize her calls for further bail reform in the NYC court system a day after a career criminal is alleged to have killed five people and injured dozens more in the Waukesha car attack.

"We have grave concerns that excessive bail amounts are leading to unnecessary pretrial detention and contributing to a humanitarian crisis in New York City’s jail system, particularly on Rikers Island."

At the time of writing, AOC has made no mention of the Waukesha tragedy on either her professional or personal Twitter accounts. However she did have time to react to the Kyle Rittenhouse verdict back on Friday.
Darrell Brooks faces five counts of intentional homicide after driving through a crowd of people at Waukesha city’s annual Christmas parade.
As reported earlier today, suspect Darrell Brooks Jr. earlier this month was released on bail by the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office. He had been arrested over a situation in which a woman told police that Brooks "purposefully ran her ‘over with his vehicle.’"
The charges included bail jumping, resisting a police officer, second-degree reckless endangerment of safety, alongside disorderly conduct and battery.
The present circumstances were enough that Milwaukee County’s own DA office said that $1000 was "inappropriately low" for the ongoing domestic violence case against him.

"This office is currently conducting an internal review of the decision to make the recent bail recommendation in this matter in order to determine the appropriate next steps."
A total of eighteen Waukesha children are being treated for injuries with at least six of those cases being listed as serious earlier today.
